Systems Approach to Designing Instructional Materials

The artifact chosen for reflection here was an Instructional Unit, the instructional strategies and lesson were shown as a power point this was the easiest method to present in the workshop given the environmental setting and available resources. Instructional design is an invaluable guide and requires more than good design skills for creating learning materials. In this continuous cycle evaluation of the methods of prerequisite and learner analysis greatly increased my effectiveness. I think that the practical hands-on method used in this course were very instructive and helped to further develop our knowledge and skills in the field instructional design.
During the design process Team Wiley undertook the roles of informed designers for this final project and did a critical examination of what was needed to create the required instructional units and have them be cohesive, following from one to the next without repeating a lot of information as the tasks were very similar in their requirements. Now that I am given the opportunity to look back and reflect, the back and forth process of re-examining objectives and the assessments to ensure they alignment with the overall objective of the instructional unit was a great skill I learned from this assignment and it definitely helped me with the latter part of the programme as this was one of the early courses offered
