Learning & Knowledge Management Systems

All the theories, techniques and skills had to be employed to create relevant and useful learning tools. The most interesting area of this course was the knowledge of Universal Design,Web Accessibility issues and chunking.E-Learning came to alive for me as I was given the opportunity to create my open Moodle course with visual and audio artifacts as well as wikis , blogs and discussion forums .This provided the opportunity for collaboration and reflection.
Research for content development ,content planning, design and development of online learning space gave me true understanding with regards to designing for all cultures , diversities and ages of people around the world. The true meaning and essence of designing for all types of learners mentally and physically .Universal Design and Accessibility were not new concepts as I did website design previously and I Look forward to including these concepts in my design project. I found the concepts and the theories used in LMS very intriguing and rewarding, I would’ve redefined my learning objectives for a more constructivist approach but for me personally my learning involved some self-directed learning for this course.
E-learning affords the flexibility of access to learning anytime. Participants can engage in learning, sharing information and exchanging ideas with their peers from anywhere around the world . This requires designers to effectively plan, with the help of available finances and resources ,the course structure and learning activities of the training programme or course and enable accessibility to well-organised content to reach instructional goal.My project management skills I acquired in MSc. IDT came into good use with this course.I look forward to including these type of learning activities , strategies and theories in my design project.
