Instructional Design Theories Models & Strategies

I was also part of a group called “Brainstormers Are Us” where we were required to design our own model the “L.E.W. Achievement Model”. Models help us to break down a problem into manageable units.Gagne nine events of instruction are intended to promote the transfer of knowledge from perception through the stages of memory. The ultimate goal of The L.E.W. Achievement Model is for the learners to achieve and perform optimally at whatever task they are given.
From this experience I learnt that a good designer maintains a relationship between each phase of the model. Applying this approach to model design made the process easier. In trying to break down the L.E.W. Achievement Model into manageable units there were some aspects the group disagreed on, it was obvious we visualized the problem differently and had to revisit the drawing board and reframe the problem. Finding a new common problem and shifting focus called for a redefinition of what is the model and what it does.
I chose to showcase the concept map here because it shows what entailed in Instructional Design .I first learnt that Instructional Design as a Process a Discipline a Science and a Reality and can begin at any stage .The instructional design process consists of four key elements. Whom to teach, what to teach, how to teach, and how to evaluate. These four elements are usually used to create any instructional design model. The domains of learning will help the teachers to efficiently organize the goals and the objectives of the instructional lesson and assist the teacher understanding what types of learning to expect from learners .The concept map allowed me to identify what if the instructional design was applied to my classes, the experiences of learning and practicing; and that an Instructional Designer knows how people learn and have ideas on how to help them learn better. What is next in the masters programme and the next steps in design and engaging was to design learning activities .I remember thinking so what can I do with Instructional Design?
